Gertie was a dog I rescued who had extreme behavior challenges that didn’t become fully apparent until several weeks after I had adopted her. At the time, I was not a professional trainer, and as a young adult recently out of college, paying a behavior consultant was very difficult for me to afford. I often wonder what kind of a difference it could have made for Gertie if my access to behavioral resources was not limited based on my finances.
I strongly believe that dog training is for everyone. In an effort to be more inclusive and accessible, Wiggles and Woofs already offers training at prices that are below market rate for our area. However, I understand that these prices are still out of reach for some.
For this reason, beginning in 2024, I am piloting a dog training scholarship program that will offer training services at a reduced rate for those experiencing barriers to accessing training services. A very limited number of scholarships will be available.
If you would like to apply for a scholarship, please fill out the form below. Scholarships will be awarded based on need, schedule availability, and scholarship availability.
You will receive an email within one week to let you know if you qualify to be part of Wiggles and Woofs scholarship program, and what degree of financial support I can offer for you. If I cannot offer you a scholarship, I will do my best to at least send along some behavioral resources for you and your pup.
Sincerely,
Jen (Owner of Wiggles and Woofs)
